Lakewood Ranch, Florida, is getting ready to welcome the Sarasota Marathon on Saturday, January 14, 2023. This is the first marathon to get approved in Sarasota County and organizers consider the area to be one of the best counties for outdoor enthusiasts.

Centauri Insurance is excited to announce we will be the official race sponsor for the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K run. In fact, the start line will be located just outside of our state-of-the-art corporate office located at 4081 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34240.

The course features trails with perfectly manicured roads with beautiful landscapes and pristine communities. You will experience the “old Florida” charm with its relaxed way of life as you pass peaceful lakes and nature. The marathon path will consist of two loops around the half-marathon route and is a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon if you meet the time/distance requirements. The 10K path will consist of two loops around the 5K route. Water stations will be provided every 2 miles.

Runners and spectators will enjoy music from a live DJ and vendors such as Mission BBQ, Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Bicycles International, CryoXL, and more. Awards will be placed for all age groups and runners will earn a finisher metal. On top of that, there’s plenty of swag to go around. Runners can choose from logoed apparel to fun accessories that will show off this exciting race.

All proceeds from the races benefit two amazing non-profit organizations called Push2Inspire and Team Red, White, and Blue. Push2Inspire encourages individuals to push or propel athletes that cannot physically cross the finish line to prove that you can achieve your goals and make a difference in other people’s lives. Team Red, White and Blue guides veterans to pursue a better mental and physical lifestyle to ensure their best days are ahead. These amazing organizations make a world of difference in our local community.

If you make the trip, you won’t regret it. The race is also a short distance to the University Town Center (UTC) mall, excellent restaurants/bars, Nathan Benderson Park, hotels, and beautiful beaches. Register for the event here.
