Meet Liz & Patryk: Centauri's Actuarial Analysts from Different Sides of the Football Field

Meet Liz: Data Diva & Seminole!

Elizabeth Davio serves as Actuarial Analyst for Centauri Insurance. In this role, Liz is responsible for assisting with state filings by completing indications and state-required exhibits. She is also responsible for quarterly loss ratio and quote-to-bind ratio reports.

Liz is a proud graduate of Florida State University where she double majored in Actuarial Science and Applied Mathematics, although she said she selected her college by shaking a Magic 8 Ball. While attending FSU, Liz was a member of Future Seminole Actuaries. She also worked as an intern in the actuary department at an insurance company and tutored college and high school students in varying levels of mathematics. Most recently, she has completed her first two actuarial exam as well as course CAS1.

Liz was born in Detroit, Michigan, but she was raised in Miami, Florida. When she's not hard at work crunching numbers for Centauri, studying for actuarial exams or watching the Seminoles play, Liz enjoys singing, playing guitar, hiking, yoga, hanging out with her cat and friends. Liz also loves exploring new places. Her most recent travels have taken her to Costa Rica and on a hike along the Appalachian Trail. She hiked 24 miles in 3 days before her boyfriend's boots fell apart and they decided to hop over to Nashville, Tennessee.

FUN FACTS ABOUT LIZ
Do you have any hidden talents? I know the ABC's backwards in sign language!
What is the coolest place you've visited? Costa Rica. Great sights, great people & lots of fun activities.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A dolphin trainer
If you could be anything or anyone, what would you be? A fat house cat. They have it made!
What is something you would like to learn to do? I just started guitar lessons, so I guess I'm living that one.
What do you like about working at Centauri? Everyone here is extremely kind, supportive & fun to talk to.
What do you like most about what you do at Centauri? I like that I'm able to build a lot of what I do from scratch and set a precedent for future analysts.

Patryk Wiech

Actuarial Analyst

Meet Patryk: Data Dude & Gator!

Patryk Weich also serves as Actuarial Analyst for Centauri Insurance. In this role, Patryk is responsible for assisting with the reserving process by performing analysis on Centauri's catastrophic and non-catastrophic claims. He also creates a combined ratio report that provides information on how profitable each state and line of business is for Centauri.

Patryk is a graduate of the University of Florida where he majored in mathematics. While attending UF, Patryk served as President of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity. He also worked as at technology consultant at the university and as an actuarial intern at Pinnacle Actuarial Resources in Atlanta, Georgia. Patryk has completed his first two actuarial exams as well as course CAS 1.

Originally from Ustka, Poland, Patryk enjoys going back to visit his hometown. In his free time, Patryk enjoys running, playing guitar and watching the Florida Gators play.

FUN FACTS ABOUT PATRYK
Do you have any hidden talents? I can sing (not well) in 3 languages: English, Polish & Spanish.
What is the coolest place you've visited? My hometown in Poland. Every time I visit, there is something going on. Last time, there was a music festival, fireworks festival, food festival and a beach soccer tournament all within three weeks. Which is crazy since less than 20,000 people live there.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A professional soccer player.
If you could be anything or anyone, what would you be? Probably a trust fund kid. They get to travel the world and do a ton of cool things and have few responsibilities.
What is something you would like to learn to do? Ice skate - so I can join a hockey league.
What do you like about working at Centauri? I really like how helpful everyone is when I need something and happy hours!
What do you like most about what you do at Centauri? I like that I can see the impact of my work on the company and that a lot of what I do is used to make decisions by upper management.
