Meet Nicole Bigos: Centauri's Senior Pricing Actuary

Nicole Bigos joined the Centauri team in August 2014 as a Senior Pricing Actuary. In her role, she is responsible for the accurate pricing of all of Centauri’s product offerings along with other actuarial responsibilities.

“Pricing is at the heart of what we do,” said Nicole. “We strive to make our products affordable for consumers, while also ensuring the long-term financial health and stability that our policyholders can rely on.  It’s a pleasure to have your job always be about doing the right thing.”

Nicole began her career in Actuarial Science as an analyst for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation in Tallahassee. Prior to joining Centauri, she spent more than eight years at Universal Insurance Company of North America in Sarasota where she held key roles as both an actuary and in the catastrophe risk management department.  During this time, Nicole was also responsible for ensuring the successful transition from a consulting actuarial firm for annual rate filings and for training actuarial analysts with regard to data-mining and actuarial methods.

Nicole earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Loyola University New Orleans and a master’s degree in Applied Statistics from Florida State University. She is also a Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst, an Associate with the Casualty Actuarial Society, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  Nicole is currently pursuing her Fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society designation.

When Nicole is not at work or studying, she can be found at the local library or museum with her two children, who share their mother’s passion for learning.  Being a Louisiana native, Nicole, whenever possible, enjoys attending crawfish boils, events featuring zydeco music, and Saints games.
