Centauri Unveils Stunning New Florida Headquarters
Agents, Partners & Friends Tour Facility During Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, Open House
SARASOTA, Florida – Centauri Insurance hosted its Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Open House to show off its new corporate headquarters in Lakewood Ranch on October 24, 2017.
The event originally scheduled for September 12 was postponed as the company focused on supporting its agents and policyholders in Texas and Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
In a letter announcing the postponement of the event, Centauri's President and CEO, Rick Espino, wrote “out of respect for so many who were suffering from catastrophic flooding and destruction as a result of Hurricane Harvey in the markets that Centauri serves, we decided to postpone these events which are traditionally steeped in celebration. The extra time allowed our impacted agency partners the opportunity to recover and join us in Sarasota for the event.”
By October, the storms had cleared and our agents and partners were able to attend the ceremony as we cut the ribbon on our 30,000-square-foot, three-story modern facility designed under the creative guidance of Fawley Bryant Architects and Tandem Construction.
This event was more than a year in the making since Centauri acquired the 5-acre parcel of land at the southwest corner of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard North and Communications Parkway on July 29, 2016. Construction on the new corporate headquarters began that fall and concluded in September 2017.
“Collaboration with the Centauri team has resulted in a building design that reflects their vision, unique business dynamics and plans for their future growth,” said Steve Padgett, executive vice president of Fawley Bryant.
The building boasts sleek contemporary features and decor in a technology-inspired environment that is ideal for collaboration. It also features outdoor plazas on all three levels to take advantage of the stunning lakefront views and numerous employee amenities including a gym, showers, an expansive breakroom, and adjustable standing desks for all employees.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house gave our guests the opportunity to see the finished product first-hand. Guests were greeted by our agent partner and race car driver, Kevin Koelemeyer of Florida's Regency Insurance. He and his team brought the Centauri-sponsored race car which was on display for photo opportunities. To Centauri's surprise, Koelemeyer revealed the newest addition to the Centauri-sponsored race cars which will be featured at Sebring International Raceway in late November.
Once all of our guests arrived, the ribbon-cutting ceremonies began with speeches from Brooke Adler, Esq., Centauri's Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary; Ricardo Espino, President and CEO of Centauri; Fred Karlinsky, Esq., shareholder and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Group; and concluded with a special video message from Florida's Governor Rick Scott.
After the ceremony, guests moved upstairs to tour our new building during the open house and reception. We couldn't have planned a better ending for this event, as a spectacular Florida sunset cast vivid colors over the lake behind our new headquarters.
