Revamped Wellness & Fitness Program Launched in 2018

Fitness and wellness have always been a part of life at Centauri. The company understands the benefits of fostering a healthy team in the workplace. As a result, the company recently launched a revamped corporate wellness program bringing personal training, nutritional guidance and chiropractic services in house for all of our local employees.
Amy Whittington, who has been teaching bootcamp fitness classes to our employees at her Drive SRQ studio for several years, heads up the program. Whittington has been involved in athletics since childhood, competing in her first triathlon at the age of 12 (Yes, I said 12!). Now, Centauri employees can benefit from Amy's fitness and nutritional expertise through personalized training or small-group sessions and nutritional counseling. Whittington hopes to change the way our employees think about food by bringing healthier food options to the office and conducting a series of nutritional "Lunch & Learns." Every other Thursday, Whittington leads a "Yoga on the Lawn" class which encourages our employees to get outside for stretching and stress relief.

Volunteer Program Gives Employees the Opportunity to Make a Difference

Centauri also understands the importance of giving back to our community. Team members are allotted 16 paid hours per year to volunteer at a charity of their choice during work hours in addition to various group volunteer opportunities that are scheduled throughout the year.
Last winter, employees worked in shifts at Sarasota's annual Mayor's Feed the Hungry event at Ed Smith Stadium. Since it's beginning, this program has collected and distributed more than 200 tons of food and more than $2,000,000 food gift cards to hungry in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Since the inception of our volunteer program, TEAM Centauri members have given their time at numerous local charities. Michaela Cerce and Alexis Brodil recently chose to spend eight of their volunteer hours working with adults and children at The Haven in Sarasota. This organization serves children with special needs by helping them to reach their fullest potential throughout their lifetime.

"All of the staff members were truly amazing at what they did for The Haven," said Cerce. "We will surely be returning to volunteer again soon."
This program has been a truly rewarding experience for our employees. Those who participate return to work eager to do it again and they are encouraged to do so.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame. Take Me Out with the Crowd.

One of the perks of living along Florida's Suncoast is being able to watch the "boys of summer" practice as they gear up for the upcoming baseball season. Centauri's corporate headquarters is just a short drive from at least a half dozen spring training facilities making it easy to catch your favorite team or player up close.

In March, Centauri hosted our annual Spring Training Teambuilding outing at LECOM Park in Bradenton. TEAM Centauri watched the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Toronto Bluejays while indulging in some ballpark favorites. This event is a crowd favorite among our employees each year giving them the opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed environment.
