Team Centauri had Numerous Teambuilding Opportunities in Recent Months

At Centauri Insurance, we strive to work and play hard together as one team. Building a strong, healthy and united team is accomplished in a number of ways and serves as the foundation of everything that we do. Providing opportunities for our team to bond with co-workers and partners outside of the workplace gives everyone the chance to get to know each other on a more personal level, something that can’t always be accomplished during the daily grind. The ability of our employees and partners to effectively communicate, collaborate and work together as a team ultimately results in the achievement of shared goals and the overall success of our company.

From outings to races to charity events, here are just a few ways we have been strengthening Team Centauri during the past several months:

In October, Team Centauri had a hauntingly good time during our Halloween office party. Hulk Hogan, Rudolph, Flo and a penguin were just of a few of the odd individuals who showed up at our corporate office. We dined on a ghoulish potluck which included graveyard dip and road kill bean soup.

On November 5, 2016, Centauri team members got all dressed up for the 2016 South Florida Museum's Snooty's Gala. Centauri Insurance was a Stellar Sponsor for the annual event.

The next day, Team Centauri members and their families participated in The Xterra Wild Horse Trail Run in Dover, Florida just north of Sarasota. This is not your average trail run. Our runners were challenged on a course with stream crossings, hills and off-trail running. Runners could choose from the 4-Mile, 10K, 10-mile or Half Marathon.

On December 2, 2016, Kevin Koelemeyer and his team from Regency Insurance made the trek to our corporate office in Sarasota with their Centuari-sponsored race car. Team Centauri members got numerous photo opportunities to step inside the race car and learned what it takes to be successful on the track.

The holidays were in full swing at Centauri during the month of December with our annual Deck the Walls Cubicle Decorating Contest, the Pimp My Gingerbread House Decorating Contest, and our Holiday Party. Our cubicles were decorated with everything from elf cabins to fireplaces to blinking lights. Team Centauri members were split into teams of four and given supplies to construct the ultimate gingerbread house in 45 minutes - some succeeded, others did not - but fun was had by all. Prizes were awarded for the best and worst gingerbread houses.

With everyone in town for the holidays, our sales and marketing team took advantage of this rare opportunity with an all-day Sales & Marketing meeting. Our VP of Sales and Agency relations was joined by our regional sales managers and our corporate marketing and sales team which proved to be highly beneficial for all. Numerous initiatives and strategies were discussed and tackled as the team sought ways to improve processes in order to better serve our agency partners.

Centauri hosted our annual Reinsurance event "Gathering by the Bay" in January. Guests joined Centauri executives in Sarasota where they participated in golf, a boat cruise and a tour of the South Florida Museum and planetarium.

In February, Centauri Insurance was a sponsor at the annual Goodwill Mardi Gras Gala in Sarasota. Members of Team Centauri got dressed up for a good cause and participated in a silent auction where one of our lucky employees took home a trip to South Africa!

Our VP of Sales and Agency Relations met Wyatt Hall, Regional Sales Manager, in South Carolina in March for the IIABSC Spring Convention where our agency partners from Mappus Insurance Agency took home our booth's raffle prize.

On March 30, Team Centauri enjoyed some teambuilding at the ballpark for the annual Spring Training game. Team members ate hot dogs, snacked on Cracker Jacks and cheered on the Baltimore Orioles as they took on the Detroit Tigers in the last Spring Training game of the season. This is a favorite event among our employees and we look forward to it each year.

Puppy fever has taken over at our Centauri corporate office in 2017. Four of our employees have recently adopted adorable rescue pups from Nate's Honor Animal Rescue in Bradenton, Florida. Macey Owens, Blu Cox, Pippy Brodil-Cunningham and Willow Jones have all found happy homes.

Team Centauri is gearing up for two special races next month. First up is The Claw Trail Run at Alafia State Park on May 7 followed by the 3rd Annual SUP & RUN 5K which will take place on May 20, 2017 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. Participants chose to run, paddleboard or do a combination of the two. This race is very close to Centauri's heart since the race's organizer and founder is our very own Felicia Cox who serves as our VP of Sales & Agency Relations. The race helps benefit Operation Second Chance, a group of patriotic citizens committed to serving our wounded, injured and ill combat veterans.

At the end of the day, Team Centauri understands that the success of our company is dependent on building a strong team and a great culture. Our team and our culture are only great because of the greatness of the people within it and their commitment to our values and vision.
